Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. In her early years, she went to her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. At the age of six, Emma realized she was going to become an actor and for many years she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned the art of acting and dancing. When she was ten, she had appeared and played as the main character in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. After eight consecutive auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's screen debut was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in the year 2001. It was also the most successful film of 2001. Opening weekday and weekend ticket sales were record-breaking. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, particularly the young performers. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British publication, has praised Emma for her performance. Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the film.
